Bassetlaw District Council have tried to veto plans for 1000 new jobs and a Sports Stadium
John Mann joined forces with Independent Councillor, Hugh Burton to campaign against Bassetlaw District Council's proposal to cut the Bulky Refuse Collection, when they presented the results of their consultation exercises on Monday at Retford Town Hall. They sat on an old settee in Retford Market Square to highlight the future fly tipping problems that Bassetlaw will face should this service be withdrawn. Bassetlaw District Council are proposing to cut the bulky collection service provided to many of Bassetlaw's villages without running a full and open consultation on the issue and this led John Mann to run his own consultation...
The 27th January is Holocaust Memorial day and John Mann has pledged his commitment to the event by signing a Book of Commitment in the House of Commons to honour those who perished in the Holocaust. This year the day marks the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and extermination camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau and John wishes to remember those who were persecuted and murdered during the Holocaust.
