John Mann has written the to the Speaker, John Bercow calling for John Hemmings’ resignation following yesterdays condemnatory comments by Judge Sir Nicholas Wall’s about Vicky Haigh when he jailed Elizabeth Watson who acted as Ms Haigh’s “investigator”.
In April this year, John Hemming used Parliamentary Privilege to break a court injunction and named Vicky Haigh in the House. At the time Vicky Haigh was John Mann’s constituent and John Hemming took up Ms Haigh’s case without any reference to him and with Mann only becoming aware of his actions after the event.
Mann said “this explains why a gung ho attitude to the breaching of court injunctions on the floor of the House is both foolhardy and irresponsible. Mr Hemming has abused parliamentary privilege and should resign. He clearly has a psychological obsession with the breaking of court injunctions and is not fit to be an MP”.
