The Great Light Switch Off – Or Is It On?

Whilst Langold residents have been stumbling about in the dark since last December local people have been astounded to see new street lights being installed along on the road from Worksop to Carlton.

John Mann shares local residents concerns.  He said “whilst drivers are to have the security of street lights on a non-residential stretch of the A60,  Langold residents have been contacting me since the great street light switch off about their health and safety fears.  They are now in complete darkness between midnight and 5.30 am.  Despite Notts Council thinking otherwise, people do go out between these times and I have had complaints from night shift workers who have tripped over unfilled pot holes and heard concerns about an increase in dog fouling.   I will be closely monitoring the crime rate figures for Langold and will be pressuring Notts County Council to think again.”
