John Mann MP is appealing for witnesses of the fly tipping that took place on the canal in the centre of Worksop this week. The MP hopes that a witness could help identify the culprit, in order for them to be prosecuted. The rubbish itself was dumped in the canal at the back of the Priory Car Park.

John Mann has raised his concerns with Bassetlaw District Council, British Waterways and the Chesterfield Canal Trust.

John Mann said ‘'we all need to remain vigilant to these kind of actions. Fly tipping is an eyesore anywhere in Bassetlaw. On this occasion it is also a danger to the public who are using the towpath and could endanger the working of the lock on the canal. The Cuckoo Dyke is an important attraction and resource for all of us in Bassetlaw."
