John Mann will be on the Politics Show (East Midlands) this Sunday talking about the Justice Minister, Ken Clarke's recent proposal to reduce prison numbers which has since gained a consensus of support from Tories, Lib Dems and Ed Miliband, would be Labour leader.

John will be arguing that they are all missing the point. He said that "nobody wants more people in prison and lots more needs to be done to make prison work in rehabilitating offenders. By artificially limiting prison numbers we wave a white flag to drug dealers, wife beaters and shop-lifters who are precisely those people who will no longer be sent to prison. This new policy undermines the rights of every decent citizen in this country and therefore must be stopped".
