On Thursday evening (21st January 2010) John Mann MP is conducting an automated telephone poll in Worksop and surrounding villages on the Vesuvius site issue. The campaign against Bassetlaw Districts Council's decision to turn down the development proposal for a new home for Worksop Town FC and 1,000 new jobs at a new ASDA and neighbouring industrial units has already begun.

Its essential that local views are heard and included as part of the campaign. John Mann has set up a phone ballot for residents and this will be broadcast throughout the area on Thursday evening. John said "if you want to have your say on this significant issue please don't put the phone down on this very important automated call on Thursday evening".

Bassetlaw District Council have tried to veto plans for 1000 new jobs and a Sports Stadium
7 of 10 Councillors on the Planning Committee voted against plans for a new supermarket, industrial units and a community sports stadium on the former Vesuvius site.
