Today (Thursday 22nd April) is the first Birthday of the 1861 Tigers Trust - the group formed last year to help save Worksop Tigers Football Club.
John said "people have spoken in huge numbers - we want to get Worksop's football team back into Worksop. We've still got a tough fight with the Council, but things are looking brighter."
John wants to see further changes to the way all football clubs are governed, including:
- Changing the way football is governed so that new owners face tougher tests to prove they are fit to run clubs
- Giving Registered Supporters' Trusts more opportunities to buy shares in their clubs
- Improving supporter democracy so that fans have more of a say in the running of the clubs
John is also campaigning to have sports facilities across Bassetlaw improved.
