Following confirmation by Liam Fox that he allowed Adam Werritty to stay for free in a taxpayer funded flat in 2002-03, John Mann has referred Fox to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.
In 2009 Ian Gibson was suspended from the Labour Party and immediately resigned from Parliament in an identical situation, because he had allowed his daughter to live tax free in a taxpayer funded flat.
Fox was claiming for a second home, which Werritty lived in which directly parallels the rationale for Ian Gibson’s resignation.
John Mann is calling for Fox to follow Gibson’s example and resign immediately from Parliament and for David Cameron to replicate Gordon Brown and suspend Fox from his Parliamentary Party
