John Mann is organising a ballot over the next few weeks of Bassetlaw residents on the cuts to our 999 services. The ballot includes questions on cuts to our police, our fire service and Bassetlaw Hospital. It includes a stark warning on the proposals coming our way to cut our ambulance service.
The intention is to hand deliver a ballot paper to every household to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to have their views heard. The responses will be presented to our local police chief, fire chief, chief executive at the hospital, prime minister, deputy prime minister and our leader of the opposition.
John Mann said “Due to us being in the very north of the county we are already used to being the forgotten edge and these cuts could be devastating for this area. Remote access to our 999 services is not good enough and will inevitably put lives at risk. The voices of Bassetlaw people need to be heard at this time and this ballot will make our views loud and clear to the powers that be”.
John Mann is currently recruiting volunteers to help deliver the ballot papers and asks that they email him on mannj@parliament.uk or phone 01909 506200 if you can help.
