What facilities do young people in Bassetlaw need?

From my discussions with young people in Bassetlaw, not least the Youth Alcohol Forum, I think there aren't enough things for young people to do in Bassetlaw. Sometimes this causes problems - with little else to do, some young people will cause trouble, and others will be seen as troublemakers when they are acting almost entirely innocently.

What do you think we need in Bassetlaw? What kind of things do you want to be able to do? and what do we need to do to make any facilities we build attractive?

I want to know your views, and I want to know what you think about other people's views too.

I agree that Bassetlaw young people need things to do and the right facilities for them to do activities. I can only think of a limited few facilities that young people can access on a regular basis to keep themselves occupied outside of school and the majority of them are not in Bassetlaw itself. So to help young people we either need these facilities within Bassetlaw or have cheaper public transport for them to access facilities and activities within other districts.

We need; (well 'it would be nice to have') - A Cinema (possibly with bowling alley and fast food outlets also) - Preserved open spaces. PFI projects such as schools are swiftly swallowing these up and a good old field or two is very important. - Youth Clubs etc = places dedicated to providing the activities, food and services teens need aswell as creating the right atmosphere. - Promotion of the existing facilities and organisations (funding from the local authority) e.g Cadet forces, Theatre/Drama venues or groups etc. Just a few thoughts lol.
