A poll last night, Thursday 21st January of residents living in Worksop, Carlton, Blyth, Langold, Oldcotes, Welbeck has revealed that they are overwhelmingly opposed to Notts County Council's proposals to cut, privatise and price hike services for the elderly and vulnerable.

Of the 1,768 people who answered the question 97.3% (1,720) were against the cuts and only 2.7% (48) were in favour)

John Mann, MP for Bassetlaw conducted the poll of local people via an automated telephone call. John has made sure that the results are included in the Councils consultation process.

He said "these results are absolutely devastating, an overwhelming percentage of people are very clearly opposed to Nottinghamshire County Councils proposals. This is because they will hit the most vulnerable people in our area.

"The ball is now in the County's court, they have a duty to respond positively to the huge level of hostility and opposition that their proposals have generated."
