Gordon Brown hosted a special event for young people last week and invited local girl, Leigh Smith to attend. John Mann, MP for Bassetlaw accompanied her to the event where she had the opportunity to meet other Cabinet members such as Harriet Harman and Deputy Speaker, Sylvia Heal.

Leigh Smith lives on Sitwell Close, Kilton. Leigh has just reached her 18th birthday and is currently studying for A-levels at Worksop Sixth Form Centre and is hoping to go on to do a degree in international relations and politics. 

John Mann commented, “I was delighted to accompany Leigh to this prestigious event where she took the opportunity to share a laugh and a joke with the Prime Minister. She did Worksop proud.”
