Charlie the Parrot is Canvassing for Labour’s John Mann

Bassetlaw's Labour Candidate, John Mann has won the support of Charlie the Parrot who is telling all and sundry to "vote Mann", "vote John Mann".

John Mann meets new supporter

Charlie's owner is Josie Potts and she is a fervent Labour and John Mann supporter. At the start of the General Election campaign Josie volunteered to telephone canvass local residents from her home. Unbeknown to Josie her parrot was listening to every word and very quickly began to call out "vote Mann", "vote John Mann".

John Mann has been to meet Charlie to thank him for his support and was met with a lively burst of "vote John Mann!"

Charlie's owner, Josie said "Bassetlaw needs to keep John Mann as its MP and I will do whatever it takes to help him get re-elected. But I was really shocked when I first heard Charlie shouting out his support for John, he must have overheard me on the telephone talking to my friends and neighbours."
