John Mann is keen that local residents are aware of a company operating a car clamping business that has been operating around Retford's town centre.
Midlands Clamping Company has been clamping cars that are parked on private land. Some drivers have been using the places for years and have been shocked to return to their cars to find them clamped.
People who have had their cars clamped have found that Midlands Clamping Company are charging £125 to release the car and will only accept cash saying that their card machine is broken. Their website for making appeals does not work and the company is not registered with Companies House.
John Mann has met with local businesses who are very angry about this situation. When John phoned Midlands Clamping Company he was met with hostility and abuse. They are now impossible to get hold of.
John Mann is warning local residents of this menace saying "this is a fly by night organisation. Coming back to a clamped car means that you have no choice to pay up if you want to get home again. They are making money out of a situation that people have no control or choice over. I want to hear from anyone who have suffered at the hands of these people".
