Notts County Council has just announced their funding commitments for Bassetlaw Care Homes. James Hince Court remains open as a specialist home for people with dementia with commitments for expenditure on modernisation and re-development.
St Michaels View remains open and Notts County Council are giving consideration to the provision of a purpose built 35-bed care home in Retford.
John Mann was delighted to hear of the announcements. He commented "throughout the consultation on future care provision for elderly people in this area I have kept in close contact with residents and their families and I know that this is the outcome that they wanted to hear. Its essential that we have first class provision for elderly people in this area and Notts County Council have listened and responded to local needs. Not only are they making a huge expenditure commitment but I understand that they will continue to work with resident and their families over future developments. This good news for the people of Bassetlaw"
