Notts County Council have today announced 50mph speed limit on the A620 (from Clarborough Hill to North of Bole Corner) will come into force on Monday 19th April 2010.

This was called for by North and South Wheatley residents in September 2009 when MP, John Mann and local Councillor, Hugh Burton jointly organised a public meeting on speeding traffic on this busy stretch of road.

In welcoming the news John Mann said "following the fatal accidents on this dangerous stretch of road this speed reduction was called for local residents. I think this is the right decision, I very much support its introduction and believe that there should be 50 mph limits on rural roads."
